On Wednesday, March 4, the SDMUG will have two presentations geared at unleashing the power that’s built into Apple’s OS X and iOS. Two of our own will showcase how to create basic apps and time-saving shortcuts for Macs and iOS devices.
First is a short introduction to Swift, the new programming language from Apple for developing both iOS and Mac applications. Our new board member Ray Fix will give you a basic understanding of how it’s done, how simple it can be for anyone to start basic programming.
Next to present is longtime SDMUG member and Mac guru Adam Christianson who will show how to use both Automator (OS X) and Workflow (iOS) for automating tasks on Macs, iPhones and iPads. Why do the same task 5, 10 or even 100 times when a simple Automator or Workflow script can do the work quicker and simpler? Adam will show how to write these scripts using the simple tools in Automator and Workflow. By the end of the presentation, expect to be kicking yourself for not having learned this years ago!
Don’t forget the “Meeting after the Meeting” at California Pizza Kitchen on Nobel Drive. This is a great time to get to know fellow Mac enthusiasts and grab a late snack or dinner.
Your RSVP is appreciated.
