SDMUG Meeting: Apple’s “Photos”

Wednesday, May 6, iTecSD and the SDMUG welcome Mac podcaster and all around Mac expert Adam Christianson as our presenter. The topic is Apple’s New ‘Photos’ App, the recent replacement for the longtime Apple digital image editor/manager iPhoto.

Adam will discuss Photos, how it’s different from iPhoto and Apple’s higher end Aperture applications, how to migrate from both into Photos, who wins and who loses with the feature set changes (remember that Apple has stopped all Aperture development now!) and whether Photos is going to do what you need it to do. For some, making the switch to Adobe’s Lightroom, the longtime Aperture competitor, is inevitable.

This meeting is geared to the average Mac user. You don’t need to be an expert photographer or software specialists to appreciate the easily understood descriptions Adam uses in explaining what you came to learn.

ELECTIONS: Nominations by members for the iTecSD Board will be accepted at this meeting, with the election held at the iTecSD meeting in June 2015.

Don’t forget the “Meeting after the Meeting” at California Pizza Kitchen on Nobel Drive. This is a great time to get to know fellow Mac enthusiasts and grab a late snack or dinner. More information at For prompt announcements and updates, join with us at Your RSVP is appreciated.
